Nine Line at The Yards is a multi-unit, high-end urban apartment complex with connections to Madison’s Southwest Commuter Path and Monona Bay.
Saiki Design worked closely with the architectural design team to integrate the site into the evolving fabric of The Yards development area. A major challenge included designing welcoming site features over an underground parking structure, essentially a green roof with the appearance of being at-grade near the front entrance to the building. Saiki Design was responsible for site planning and design, participated in the rigorous City and neighborhood review process, and produced construction document packages for detailed planting designs intended to provide a cohesive movement from one building to the next within The Yards district. Saiki Design also provided construction administration services to ensure the successful establishment of plant and landscape materials.
